INSIDER INTERVIEW #8: CHARLOTTE SAVIDGE, STYLED LIVING

Welcome to Insider Interviews, our series where we chat to design experts about their inspiration, unique style and why they choose Francone Bespoke Taps.

In this edition of the series, we sat down with Charlotte Savidge, founder of Styled Living, a Hertfordshire-based interior design studio specialising in residential and commercial property in the UK and internationally. Undertaking projects of all types and sizes and working alongside a team of trusted suppliers and experienced tradespeople, Styled Living pride themselves on delivering a completely bespoke, fully managed service.

Can you tell us about your journey as an interior designer so far?

My passion for creativity inspired me to turn Interior Design into a career and start my own business that I could manage around my young children. My job is a blend of creativity, technical skills, and communication, so plays to my strengths. I am constantly learning and growing, but I feel incredibly fortunate to have found the career that's truly right for me. Collaborating with talented suppliers, skilled contractors and wonderful, trusting clients has been the perfect addition to an already rewarding journey.

How would you describe your style?

Styled Living creates authentic, timeless and characterful interiors by blending traditional English interior design with modern functionality to achieve spaces that are beautiful, yet liveable. We honour the 'bones' of the building by maintaining or restoring features or details that reflect the age of the property.

Where do you find your inspiration?

I take inspiration from anywhere and everywhere, but travelling and nature are the two biggies. Travel because I experience different cultures, architecture, design styles and artisans. Nature is also a big inspiration - I am always drawn to natural elements, textures and warm, earthy colours likes greens, browns and neutrals. They naturally feature in all my designs.

How did you find out about Francone Bespoke Taps originally?

I think I came across your Instagram account when searching for the perfect brass fittings for a bathroom project.

What do you like about Francone Bespoke Taps products?

I believe quality and beauty are important with equal measure when it comes to bathroom brassware. Francone Bespoke Taps delivers on both.

What advice would you give to those struggling to define their own interior style?

Focus on the colours you love and buy furniture that resonates. Buy less and invest in beautiful pieces that will stand the test of time. Mix old with new - have fun shopping for antiques. Creating a vision board really helps to see how pieces work together before you buy anything. You can do this in PowerPoint or Canva.

If you don’t mind us asking, what are you working on at the moment? Or anything exciting in the works?

I have been instructed on several, very exciting projects this year, mostly residential. My husband and I also just bought an old farmhouse in rural Hertfordshire so I would love to find some time to give my own home some tlc this year too!
