Understanding Our First Fix: Partial Shipping Service

When it comes to renovating or building a new bathroom or kitchen, timing matters. At Francone Bespoke Taps, we understand that the installation process can be complex, especially when coordinating plumbing work with finishing materials like tiles, walls, and cabinetry. That’s why we offer an optional service that helps streamline this stage: our First Fix & Partial Shipping Service.

What Is the First Fix?

First Fix refers to the initial installation stage of the concealed parts of your brassware, typically the components that need to be plumbed into the wall before tiling or other finishes are applied. These include elements like the valves and rough-in pipework that will be connected to your visible tap or shower later on.

By opting for our First Fix service, you can receive the essential in-the-wall parts earlier, while the rest of your order is fulfilled according to your installation schedule.

Why It Matters

The First Fix service is especially helpful when you are working to a tight renovation timeline or just to suit the project schedule. It sets the foundation for the entire system. A precise well planned first fix ensures the system runs smoothly for years to come. Your plumber can install and plan the necessary parts and pipework into the wall or floor before closing it up. This means the pipework can all be checked to ensure everything is installed correctly before second fix components arrive.

It is also worth noting that not all products require First Fix items — in some designs, everything is cleverly built into the tap body

Common Questions

Do all products come with First Fix components?

No. Some products are designed as one complete piece, so there are no behind-the-wall parts to ship separately. If First Fix parts are available, we’ll offer the option at checkout.

Will my plumber know what to do?

In most cases, yes. The term "rough-in" (as it’s called in the US) or "first fix" is familiar to plumbing professionals. For extra clarity, we always provide technical sheets and are happy to guide you or your contractor.

How do I know if I need this?

We’ll usually ask during your order process whether you’d like to opt into the First Fix & Partial Shipping Service. It’s ideal for anyone who needs to progress with wall or floor works before final fixtures are ready.
